In short the answer is ‘no’. Although officially certified Teams equipment may sometime have additional functionality – such as a call answer and release button – many other types of equipment are Teams compatible and will work equally well. Beware semantics – Microsoft like to play on their certification, but it often means more expense for both the customer and the product manufacturers.
