Following on from the success of Skype for Business Microsoft's messaging service has evolved into Microsoft Teams - integrates with Office 365 productivity suite to facilitate collaboration. Microsoft Teams is a cloud-based collaboration app which enhances workflows, data sharing and communications. It is Microsoft's Unified Communications app and provides a modern-day conversation experience for today’s teams. Chats are persistent but also threaded to keep everyone engaged. Conversations are, by default, visible to the entire team. There is of course the ability for private discussions. Microsoft Skype is deeply integrated, so teams can participate in voice and video conferences. Users can add personality to their digital workspace by using emojis, stickers, GIFs and custom memes to make it their own.

Teams starts off with a top level General Channel to which everyone has access. Then new channels based around subjects or projects can be created and it is the user's choice whether to follow these Channels.
At the click of a button a team meeting can be initiated, meetings can be recorded and can take place using voice, video and chat.
Microsoft Teams is supported by most major browsers and is also accessible via IOS and Android Apps.Teams allows VoIP calls over teams as well as ( if enabled ) calls to mobile and landlines over the PSTN.
