Sennheiser have brought out a new range of high end headsets the SDW 5000 wireless DECT headset Series which is comprised of the Sennheiser SDW 5015 and the Sennheiser SDW 5016 headsets.
In the words of Sennheiser themselves : "The new Sennheiser SDW 5000 wireless DECT headset Series lives up to the promise of a truly mobile, collaborative workplace and is designed with the future's business communication in mind, SDW 5000 Series is a professional communication and collaboration hub that gives total individual flexibility in the office."
It should not be worth pointing out, as this is a premium headset by Sennheiser, but the SDW 5000 series deliver the most perfect sound we have encountered in a headset. The audio is both natural and rich whilst making the most of the wideband audio. Sound is also enhanced via a double microphone which is noise cancelling and has voice detection technology incorporated.
The SDW 5015 and SDW 5016 also share some great features. A busy light is a very useful tool for allowing your colleagues to see that you are on a call. They both work primarily as DECT headsets and take advantage of DECT's built in security with an additional layer of security provided by Sennheiser's 'Protected Pairing'.
What really sets these two models apart is their advanced and intuitively incorporated connectivity - allowing the user to take full advantage of today's multi-channel communications environment.
These headsets are both certified for use with Skype for Business whilst being compatible with all major Unified Communications platforms. Battery life is extended with an auto sleep feature giving these headsets a 48 hour standby time.
The 5000 series headsets are well made yet surprisingly light and the FlexFit system gives the user the freedom to choose from a selection of wearing styles : Headband, Ear-Hook or Neckband.
Smart headset and base controls provide one-touch call management. The 5000 series headsets can even synchronises with your Skype for Business presence status.
The Sennheiser SDW 5015 is a dual connectivity headset, being able to connect to both deskphone and to softphone simultaneously. It even has the facility to plug in a wired headset or speakerphone into the base station ( the manufacturers recommend a Sennheiser ). The Sennheiser SDW 5016 has the additional feature of Bluetooth which allows triple connectivity - adding the option to connect to mobile/ tablet/ Bluetooth UC terminal from the headset.
