The Avaya 9608G IP Phone is a versatile desktop system phone for business which works over IP , making it suitable for VoIP/ SIP telephone systems.
It can be powered via a separate PSU or via its Ethernet port ( POE ) the G stands for Gigabit Ethernet - denoting the high data transfer rates that the telephone is capable of.

The phone can also be expanded with the addition of Expansion Modules which can extend the number of 'one button' to call. Further - xml based software can be integrated to the operating system so that business processes and calendars can be accessed from the phone.
Easy to read and recognise icons can also be assigned to common tasks and procedures - making this a truly powerful enterprise model.
Sound Features on the Avaya 9608G
The 9608G has a very clear wideband sound which delivers high definition audio( on both handset and headset ) and a built in speakerphone which allows fully duplex ( both parties speaking simultaneously ) conversations.
It has support ( via the Avaya 9600 Bluetooth Adaptor ) for Bluetooth™ and DECT to enable the connection of a variety of headsets - it also carries a traditional RJ11 jack for the connection of a corded headset.
Further to this the phone has is hearing aid compatible - with an incorporated induction loop.
All in all, and at the price the 9608G, with its support for, not only VoIP Unified Communications platforms but SIP protocols, is a powerful endpoint telephone suitable for anything from small offices to large call centres.
