EPOS unveils new Headsets at ISE Barcelona

Last month at the ISE Barcelona EPOS unveiled two very interesting series of headsets. These are two distinct ranges with super features and overlapping deployment scenarios.

These are the EPOS IMPACT 700 Series and the EPOS IMPACT 800 Series.

To summarise briefly – the 700 Series are primarily aimed at ‘customer-centric’ roles such as those working in busy contact centers.The 800 Series of headsets are designed for a worker in an open office.

The EPOS IMPACT 700 Headsets

The EPOS IMPACT 700 Series are wired USB Headsets which have the facility to connect via either USB-A or USB-C. They incorporate a very visible busy light so that your colleagues can tell that you are on a call. EPOS AI and EPOS BrainAdapt ™ bring together technology which improves cognitive performance by powerful audio control based on psychacoustic research. The models included in this range are a choice of monaural ( one eared ) or binaural ( two eared ) models : the EPOS IMPACT 730 and EPOS IMPACT 760 respectively. Further – Microsoft Teams versions are available – which are fully certified for Teams and incorporate a dedicated Teams button.

What do we like about the EPOS IMPACT 700 Series ?

Apart from the fact that these headsets are supremely comfortable ( and they would have to be for anyone wearing them all day ) and that they deliver a great sound experience; what we really are impressed with is the inline control unit. Here EPOS have really innovated and created a very ergonomic and innovative design with an elegant twistable volume control which complements the integrated call handling functions.

The EPOS IMPACT 800 Headsets

The EPOS 800 Series Headsets are, as noted, aimed at the open office user and are certified for all leading Unified Communications platforms including Microsoft Teams. Busy offices, by their very definition have a lot of background noise and it can be difficult to hold down a conversation if colleagues are talking to each other or talking loudly on the phone. In order to allow more focussed conversations EPOS have Hybrid Adaptive ANC as well as EPOS AI™ powered microphones. So one is protected from background noise whilst the person on the other end of the line can only hear you. All day comfort is assured by the inclusion of soft breathable ear cushions. The 800 Series connects to your system via either USB-A or USB-C via a 1.8m cable.

What do we like about the EPOS IMPACT 800 Series ?

We tried these in the office for a week and found the audio of a high standard – both for calls and for music. We loved the comfort and the way in which one can set the headset to Talk Through mode – which is a great bonus when wearing a binaural headset in a busy office.

Im summary, we feel that these two series of headsets represent a worthy addition to the EPOS portfolio, covering many bases and applications. Further, they look good, are a joy to use and deliver outstanding audio quality.
