The WH64 Headset from Yealink is what is termed a hybrid headset – this is because, unlike the vast majority of headsets, the WH64 has dual connectivity options. Bluetooth allows simple connection to a multitude of devices – tablets, phones etc, whilst DECT will enable a wireless connection with greater range and security.
The Difference : Bluetooth and DECT
Bluetooth and DECT are two wireless technologies used in headsets, each with distinct characteristics. Bluetooth operates on the 2.4 GHz frequency and is widely used in consumer electronics like smartphones, tablets, and laptops. Its versatility allows it to connect various devices, but this ubiquity can lead to interference from other Bluetooth devices and Wi-Fi networks. Bluetooth headsets are ideal for short-range communications, typically up to 30 feet, and offer convenience for on-the-go use.
DECT, or Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications, operates on a dedicated frequency band, usually 1.9 GHz, designed specifically for wireless voice communication. This specialization minimizes interference and provides a more stable connection, especially in environments with multiple wireless devices. DECT headsets are often preferred in office settings where users need to move around within a range of about 300 feet from the base station.
In summary, Bluetooth is great for general use with portable devices, while DECT excels in providing reliable, interference-free communication in professional environments.
The WH64 is a wireless headset for business communication. It integrates DECT and Bluetooth modes, offering efficiency and flexibility.
Its advanced acoustic shield technology 2.0 filter out background noise for clear sound transmission. The busy light signals your call status to avoid interruptions.

Best of both worlds
Our Experience
We unpacked the WH64 and were immediately impressed at its build quality. The model already had a decent charge and we connected the base station ( via USB ) to our Yealink desk phone very easily. We made a few calls over this DECT connection and found that we had both a good range ( about 100m internally – through walls in a building ) and clear and rich sound. We then paired the headset with two models of mobile phone ( an Android – Pixel 8 and an iPhone 15 ) alternately and were pleased to note the simplicity and speed of pairing as well as the strong audio performance over Bluetooth.
