Alcatel have brought out a new addition to their enterprise IP endpoints – a range of desktop phones which feature POE ( power over Internet ); generic RJ9 socket for wired headset connection, acoustic echo cancellation and programmable keys.
We looked recently at the Yealink T5 Series of SIP phones, Alcatel clearly show that they too are capable of providing both entry level and executive business IP Telephony solutions.
The Premium DeskPhone S Series can be deployed in any business environment, from on-premise PBX, to cloud deployment on multiple platforms, such as Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise servers or Third-Party SIP telephony platforms”
The entry level model, the Alcatel 8008 has a 2.4 inch black and white display, acoustic echo cancellation and a (10/100Mbps) Ethernet switch.
Moving up to the next, premium model in the series we encounter the Alcatel 8058s.
This brings a host of additional features to the table ( literally ). This model sports a 2.5inch colour display and back-lit programmable keys.
In an interesting innovation the 8058s has a flip down alphabetic keypad and a sizeable speaker for duplex hands free conferencing. It has enhanced HD voice quality and also comprises additional control and access via the 4 way navigation key and 10 programmable keys.
These can be further expanded with 10 key and 40 key add on modules. The 8058s model also has built in Bluetooth™ – allowing connection to wireless Bluetooth headsets.
The Alcatel 8078s raises the bar further with a 5 inch ( 480*800 pixel ) touchscreen colour display and dual Gigabit Ethernet ports which enable the telephone to deliver unrivalled sound quality. In, what must be considered a great innovation ( to those fed up with curly line cords becoming tangled ) is a Bluetooth™ handset which is sure to both make your telephone use that bit happier whilst impressing those around you.
