FAQs

Cisco 7940G FAQs

Q. Does the 7940G IP phone support a Gigabit Ethernet Port?
A.
No, the 7940G IP has a 10/100 Ethernet switch.

Q. Is the Cisco 7940G/60G PoE compatible?
A.
The 7940/60G phones only support Cisco pre standard Power over Ethernet. It has NEVER been 802.3af compliant, and since Cisco was the only vendor that made switches for Cisco pre standard POE, there is no way a third party switch would have worked with a 7940/60G handset.
