Review of the Sennheiser DW Pro 1 Cordless Headset

Image of the Sennheiser DW Pro 1 headset sitting on the base unitWorking in a fast active modern office or call centre environment it is essential that the technology keeps pace with you. The Sennheiser DW20 Pro 1 certainly does and far exceeds my expectations. Having previously suffered at the hands of cumbersome wireless telephone headsets it is with great that the new Sennheiser DW offering is not only beautifully designed, light & comfortable to wear and has functionality to support the busy office worker. The sound quality through the headset, given Sennheiser’s music industry history, is up to the standard expected and the microphone produces excellent call quality, which is ideal for loud offices and contact centres. The headset is very easy to set up thanks to the excellent start up guide and with the quick charge battery you are able to use the headset almost straight away.

There are a number of different models available of DW20 headset. There is a telephone only model which is the cheapest version, but there are also Dual functionality models which allow the user to connect both to a standard telephone as well a PC/USB enabled device. This makes it a perfect choice for those using both traditional telephony and computer based calling software. Switching between the two couldn’t be easier with two clearly marked buttons on the front of the base station. In fact the headset is really straight forward to use making it really user friendly.

Another great function of the DW Pro 1 is the conferencing feature, which gives you the ability to pair multiple headsets to the same base station at the same time. This feature gives you the freedom to have more than one person on the same call, which allows conference calls, but makes it great for staff training! This flexibility can also be used for call centres with staff on different shift patterns or hot desking as they can carry on using their own headset and simply connect it to the base unit where there is a free desk. Much more hygienic! To set up the headset at their desk, all they need to do is quickly tap it against the magnetic tab on the base station and away they go.

As well as multiple models, there is also a Binaural (DW30 Pro 2) version within the range which offers all the same great features, but with 2 earpieces.

Overall I would rate the Sennheiser DW20 Pro 1 as one of the best cordless headsets on the market and a definite purchase for those looking for a new wireless telephone headset.
